Archaeological sites of Cucuruzzu and Capula
The site of Cucuruzzu has been discovered by François De Lanfranchi in the 70’s after works for the opening of a granite quarry in Levie, near to the San Laurenzu Chapel. The Casteddu of Cucuruzzu contains a protohistorical village built in the early Bronze Age around 1800 BC, a circular tower built around 1500 BC, and a monumental complex built after the destruction of the tower. Today, it is classified as an historic monument (this is a French classification) and listed on the World Heritage of UNESCO. A pavement path adorned with oaks leads to the medieval Chapel of Capula from the Bronze Age too.
A beautiful hike will allow you to discover the 2 remarkables sites : Cucuruzzu and Capula, thanks to a footpath. wa can find the “Casteddu de Cucuruzzu”, a fortified habitat from the Bronze Age, and the “casteddu de Capula” a medieval fortification, built by the Count Bianco, during the Xth century.

To complete the visit, a visit to the museum is necessary.
